The Citi Open, also referred to as the Washington Open, is an annual tennis match held in Washington, D.C., United States. The match is part of the ATP Tour 500 sequence on the Affiliation of Tennis Professionals (ATP) tour and the WTA 250 sequence on the Ladies’s Tennis Affiliation (WTA) tour.
The Citi Open was first held in 1969 as a males’s-only match and was often known as the Washington Star Worldwide. The match was renamed the Legg Mason Tennis Basic in 1999 and the Citi Open in 2012. The ladies’s match was added in 2012.
